ANNUAL REGIONAL ASSEMBLY
The Annual Regional Assembly of the Salvatorian Sisters- Philippine Region was held on April 19-21, 2016 at the Lebanon Shelter, New Manila, Quezon City. Led by the regional superior, Sr. Alona Onag, SDS, this annual gathering engages members to be with one another, pray together and discern, share experiences, evaluate the life of community and others in various aspects of life including financial status of the Region. The 3-day event always started with the Eucharistic celebration officiated by the Scalabrinian Fathers. Theme of this year was: Salvatorian Women as Apostles of Our Time: Becoming Faces of God's Mercy and Compassion. The assembly was a time of grace indeed.
REGIONAL ANNUAL RETREAT 2016
The Salvatorian Sisters- Philippine Region have their Annual Regional Retreat last April 11-17, 2016 at the San Damiano Spirituality Center in Tagaytay City. The retreat center is run by the FMM Sisters. Fr. Cornelio Jaranilla, OCD was the retreat master. The theme focused on Healing Trauma Through Contemplation. Aside from going back to Human Development, citing cases of trauma, he also mentioned the works and contributions of great Carmelite saints: St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila and how much these can help in addressing many issues affecting religious men and women of today.
SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, 127TH FOUNDATION DAY, SILVER JUBILEE AND RENEWAL OF VOWS
On December 8, 2015 the Sisters of the Divine Savior- Philippine Region celebrated a great feast for four reasons: the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception- principal patroness, the 127th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Congregation, Silver Jubilee of Sr. Milagros Goyena, SDS, Sr. Jocel Sucaldito, SDS and Sr. Ma. Olympia Aquino, SDS and finally, the Renewal of Vows of Sr. Ruth Baguinon, SDS and Sr. Rose Agnes Etong, SDS.
INVESTITURE, FIRST PROFESSION & RENEWAL OF VOWS
The Investiture and First Profession of Religious Vows of Sr. Marites Lacre, SDS took place in our Divine Savior Convent Chapel in New Manila on December 7 and 8, 2015 respectively. The sisters from New Manila and other communities, as well as the aspirants were present to witness this beautiful, significant event. Worth- mentioning was the special presence of Sr. Marites’ sponsors: Mr. Jesus & Mrs. Velma Asedillo (together with some relatives) whom she said like a “second family”. Fr. Adam Janus, SDS led the Holy Mass during the Investiture and gave a very meaningful, touching homily while Fr. Wilson Catabay, SDS led the Eucharistic celebration the following day. Also on this same occasion, Sr. Grace Cabanas, SDS renewed her Religious Vows for one year. The celebration was very simple yet joyous and meaningful!
